A New Beginning...Sorta

She rose from concrete. She took a leap and hoped she grow wings on the way down. Sadly, for many of us that take a leap into the unknown its not guaranteed that the wings you grow will help you take flight. What you will find out is that you'll learn to work with what you've got. Regardless of the hard fall. When launching my site Amigapreneur after a layoff I was excited, scared shitless, and full of hope. I was fueled with passion but no solid business plan. I needed to launch regardless because well as many entrepreneurs will tell you sometimes you just have to get started.

Eventually, the money runs out and you have to figure out ways to put food on the table. The passion I had for interviewing women of color and writing about it on my site was invigorating, but it also took a lot of time along with money. So I put the site on hold and went back to the 9-5. And just like a caged bird I've started to get restless.

FUNNY THING, ONCE YOU GROW WINGS JUST BECAUSE YOU CANT

FLY DOESN'T MEAN YOU STOP HOPING

SOMEDAY YOU'LL SOAR.

If your like me you're stubborn. You refuse to live in the in-between. A place where you cant go back because you've seen too much, done to much, and met so many badass women that are living their purpose. So much so you can taste it, shoot you can smell it, and at times it feels like your living it even if you are there to witness the stories. And so, here you find me. Slowly dipping my toes back in the unknown waters. Even if its just to share my story of failure, crashing and burning, learning along the way, and meeting too many great and soulful women to just quit.

So...

I DECIDED TO TELL MY TRUTHS

In the hopes that someone can learn something from my story. See that even when you feel you've failed you can still keep moving forward. I did the one thing I always knew to do and that was to write my truth. Only this time not keep it in a journal but share it in a very public forum. A few weeks ago I was blessed to be part of Erica's 'What Binds Us Together' series on her site EverythingEnJ. I dug deep and told my story and in the process met and made an amazing friend.  Then a few days after that another friend got her book published and I was one of the writers featured in her book. Signs around me seemed to keep telling me to keep moving even if it meant at a slower pace. Thanks to Erica, LC Johnson and women like GG Renee from All The Many Layers that continue to keep us inspired.

Welcome to my blog. I hope you'll enjoy what you read. I hope at the very least my blog will inspire you to keep going even when you feel you failed or you think you don't have anything else to give. Let me be the first to tell you, if you haven't heard, this is the best place to be. Inspiration and passion never dies. No matter how much you tell yourself its not worth it after you've been hurt or felt broken. If you have breath in you there is always hope.
